Vertical Milling Centre (VMC), as the name suggests has a high power spindle capable of rotating upto12000RPM in vertical orientation. The most common type of VMC is 3 axis. Here, all three axis are motor operated and these motors are controlled by a userdefined program. This, helps us achieve complex shapes (except undercuts) in a single setting.
Conventionally boring in VMC is done by interpolation method. This will cause mild ovality and taper in bores, which is not suitable for pillar holes and other precision holes. Our special boring bar uses linear movement capable of bring zero ovality and zero taper bore. Aids in smooth guiding of pins in bored holes.
We use specially designed tool to achieve thread in VMC. Machining is uniform across all cores and cavity and the quality of thread finish is also high.
Finally, It all comes down to reducing cycle time (and hence cost), while maintaining high quality. Our CAM team highly optimizes the program with multiple iterations and simulations to arrive at fastest time and best quality surface finish.
